The Wyssen Compass has been especially developed for work in rough terrain. Thanks to its very steep sighting slot, it has become indispensable for work in mountains such as constructing cableways. The compass measures horizontal and vertical bearings as well as taking bearings. It is also very suitable for levelling. It has the following features: liquid damped precision compass as described for the MK-2001, two permanently mounted collimators as described for the MC-1004, a spirit level for levelling the instrument accurately, a sight above the prism and an opposite sight line for very steep readings whilst reading the compass at the same time, a rotating base and 3/8' tripod thread. Dimensions: diameter 80 x 145 mm. Weight 358 g. Spectros Meridian Instruments have remain well proven as reliable, accurate and simple to use surveying instruments since the late 1930's. Since 1968 they have been manufactured exclusively by SPECTROS AG and distributed through an international network. Our versatile surveying devices are used worldwide for marking out, road and cableway construction, topography, levelling and much more. The instruments are not dependent on any navigation system, function without electronics and thanks to their low weight and compactness are ideal for survey work in steep, inaccessible terrain or mountains. They therefore fill the gap between simple tape measures and complicated levelling instruments or theodolites.
